Glee is officially a hit!
The premier on E4 Monday night got 1.3 million viewers making it the most viewed US import since the premier of Lost back in 2005!
I was watching and also enjoyed the series and have already got a hold of the sound track which I'm also enjoying. My favourite is 'Bust the Windows' and the version of 'Take a Bow' I would have to say is better than Rihanna's original.
Let's hope it stays good and doesn't go down the same road as Lost.
I think the songs definately bring something a bit more original to the series and I doubt a similar import would work unless it had the songs which are predicted to dominate the charts.
Journey's 'Don't Stop Believin' is set to make it into the Top 20 solely because of the ads. The original is already in the Top 5 so will the cover be joining it?
Other songs from the series, 'Rehab', 'Take a Bow' and 'Gold Digger' are also expected to make it into the charts soon.
It makes a change to see some feel good drama imported rather than more hard hitting series like The Wire, House and CSI.
Despite that I'm still looking forward to the next series of British teen drama Skins which is being trailed as the moment. It gets more and more far fetched and seemingly dark every season so who knows what's going to happen this time around.
