Elie Saab Haute Couture Spring Summer 2012

Last week the Elie Saab Haute Couture Spring Summer 2012 runway show took place. With the dresses updated from the Fall Winter collection for summer it's undoubted that we will be seeing more than one of these dresses on the red carpet in the coming months.

The dresses have stuck to the same formula from the previous shows. Floaty, feminine, embellished with floral and lace details but the colour palette has been updated for the new season.

Here are some of my favourites from the show. What do you think?

  2. I just found your blog through a google thread (btw, nice - your sherlock post caught my attention, I love it too!), and I hope you don't mind, but could you please, please help me install that slider? I've been trying forever but I never get it right, and I've been searching everywhere for a tutorial, but I can't find one!

If you know a tutorial, or if you could explain it yourself, I'd be forever grateful to you.

Thanks in advance, and oh, I just adore the short dress from slide nr. 5!

    1. Hi Maria,

      Thanks for the compliments!

The slider was pretty complicated. But these are the main problems I had.

You need to add in the new css, (not through a link but directly into your code) which may conflict with your current css. I had to remove to background property.

You also need to host the JS somewhere (I used google) and that also may conflict with other JS you have in your site. I had to remove a top posts slider because it conflicted.

And it's still not working perfectly. I can only use the normal slider and not the one with the titles which I'm trying to install at the moment to work in another post I'm drafting.

Hope that helps. Also remember to back up your theme before you start messing around with it too much.

    2. Well, if you get it right be sure to tell me, because the slider I've been trying to get is the one with captions! Thanks for your help anyway, I'll keep trying to install it. Oh and I don't know if this matters, but I want it to be right bellow the blog title, like a post slider, you know? does that make it any different when installing, or is it just a matter of positioning? (I forgot to mention this earlier)

    3. Ahh That's a shame. You'd think they all work the shame, but no such luck :( No I don't think having it in the title rather than in a post would make any difference, as long as you copy the code in the index.html into the layout section then I'd imagine it would work the same as in a post. You've just got to keep testing!
